What is different about this program?
Sports
are a great way for children to learn about teamwork, respect for
authority and sportsmanship. The sad part is all those things are
being lost in today’s sporting society. With Golden Isles Upward, we
want to create the best recreation and sporting experience for every family that
participates. Upward Sports is designed to reveal the winner in
every child.
We provide an evaluation system that promotes equal teams. There is
also a substitution system for each team that allows every child
equal playing time. Every child has the opportunity to learn the
skills of the game. The emphasis is placed on having fun and great
sportsmanship, not on scores and standings.
Our success is not determined by wins
and losses, but on how all volunteers at Golden Isles Upward convey
the love of Christ to each participant and their families!
Families are a priority with Upward and we know time that
your is precious. Once games begin, we hold one hour practices once
a week. Game day is Saturday and each game is limited to one hour.
Therefore, the time commitment is two hours per week.

Will my child have
the opportunity to play every game?
Yes! All registered children will play. With the Upward
substitution system, every child has the opportunity to be in the
starting lineup, requires no child to sit out back-to-back segments
(possessions for flag football), and allows every child to play at
least half of the game.
What can I expect from the coaches?
The main role of a coach is to serve as a role model and mentor to
participants both on and off the playing field. Our coaches help
create a positive sports environment. Upward is designed
to bring out the winner in every child—regardless of the game’s
score. The coach's main goal is to share the love and
knowledge of Christ, invest time that will better prepare each child
for the wins and losses of life and to creat a fun and life changing
experience. |

What will my child receive when they participate?
Reversible Jersey, flag set, game bracelet, upward car magnet, game
play wrist band and an award at the celebration
